AlphaIT · Cookies
This page explains which cookies and similar technologies alphait.ca uses, why, how long they last, and how you can control them. We keep it short: the only cookies we set ourselves are for Google Analytics, so we can see how the site is used.

At a glance
What you should know before reading the details.
Google Analytics, to count visits and see which pages help people.
No advertising or remarketing pixels, and we don't sell personal information.
Cloudflare protects our forms from spam and bots.
Block or delete cookies at any time. The site still works without them.
The basics
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember something between pages or visits, such as whether you’re logged in or whether you’ve visited before.
Sites also use similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage and session storage. This policy covers those too, and we use the word “cookies” for all of them.
The cookies we use
Checked by loading our pages in a fresh browser on October 8, 2026. Names marked * end in a unique code.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells one visitor apart from another so we can count visitors rather than page loads. | 2 years | Analytics |
| _ga_GLG2DG7J5V | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your current visit (session) on our site. | 2 years | Analytics |
| wpEmojiSettingsSupports | WordPress (session storage) | Checks whether your browser can display emoji. Holds no personal information. | Until you close the tab | Essential |
| cf_clearance, __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Only if Cloudflare’s security checks your visit, for example on a form. Helps tell people from bots. | __cf_bm: 30 minutes of inactivity; cf_clearance: set by the security check | Security |
| wordpress_logged_in_*, wp-settings-* | WordPress | Only for our own staff when logged in to manage the website. Not set for visitors. | Varies (staff logins only) | Essential |
| comment_author_* | WordPress | Only if you leave a blog comment and choose to save your details for next time. | Just under 1 year | Functional |
Other companies’ services
A few services on our site come from other companies. They follow their own privacy policies.
Measures visits, pages viewed, how visitors arrived and roughly where they are. Google processes this data under its own terms; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
The map on our Contact page is loaded from Google. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads or when you use it, under Google’s privacy policy.
Protects the site and checks form submissions with Cloudflare Turnstile. Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us page-speed and visit counts and set no cookies in our check. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Our fonts load from Google’s servers, which sees your IP address when they download. No cookies are set.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and our website will still work. Blocking cookies only stops us from counting your visit in our statistics.
To stop Google Analytics on every website, install Google’s Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Most browsers also have a private or incognito mode that deletes cookies when you close the window.
We use analytics cookies only to understand how our website is used, not to build advertising profiles. As our Privacy Policy explains, consent may be implied where the law allows, and you can withdraw it at any time by blocking or deleting cookies or using the opt-out add-on above.
If we add, remove or change the cookies or services we use, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. If we ever add advertising cookies, we’ll list them here first.
